Jamie Shum is a recruitment, diversity & inclusion, programs, and marketing professional, speaker, and former college admissions advisor based in the New York Metropolitan tri-state area.
The eldest of three siblings raised by British Hong Kong immigrants, Jamie is passionate about learning, creating inclusive and meaningful experiences, cultivating communities, and supporting college students and early career professionals as they're thinking about their next steps in their careers.
Jamie dedicates her time to supporting social justice, feminist, anti-racism, education, and arts related causes. She serves on the Board of Directors for ICUnity, Ithaca College's affinity organization since April 2018, and the Tri-State District of the Public Relations Society of America since January 2019.
In September 2021, Jamie was named one of PRSA-NY's 15 Under 35 Award Recipients, recognizing the most inspiring and ambitious young talent in the New York Metro area who've done extraordinary efforts that showcase innovation, leadership, and inspiration in communications. She is also the recipient of the Girl Scout Gold Award, and was a featured presenter at the 2017 National Conference on Undergraduate Research, showcasing her senior independent study, "The Effects of Personality Types (Introversion-Extraversion) on Promoting Feminism on Social Media Platforms."

She also receives social and digital media training from Sree Sreenivasan, Marshall R. Loeb Visiting Professor at Stony Brook University School of Journalism and former Chief Digital Officer for Columbia University, Met Museum and NYC. In the future, she plans to pursue further education that connects equity-driven leadership, ethnic studies, and organizational and educational psychology, and how tech can continue to transform these fields in a positive, people-centric manner.
In her down time, Jamie enjoys reading, mentoring others, doing research, listening to music, trying out new restaurants, and visiting museums and cultural institutions.

"I don't have any constructive criticism to share. You gave a wonderful greeting and introduction that were clear and inviting. You managed the chat comments very well, and you addressed each of the attendees by name when they had a question. I felt more confident in my own presentation because you were so prepared, calm, and confident."
“I thought Jamie was incredibly thorough in her (virtual information session) presentation! I learned a lot and had most, if not all, of my questions answered.”
