Ithaca College's ICUnity Nationwide Virtual Summer 2020 Event
On Saturday, July 18, 2020, Ithaca College hosted its 33rd annual NYC Network Night and 4th annual ICUnity Mix and Mingle Reception at the JW Marriott Essex House New York.
This free event brought together Ithaca College students, alumni, parents, staff, and faculty to talk about career interests, professional experiences, and industry trends. For students, this event was designed for them to build relationships and gain perspectives on life after Ithaca College from alumni.
At the start of the Network Night event, ICUnity, Ithaca College's affinity organization that connects IC's underrepresented groups and allies to support inclusive social interaction through events and programs, hosted a mix and mingle reception to help everyone get warmed up for networking.
As the Director of Engagement on ICUnity's National Board of Directors, I served as the host and emcee of the ICUnity Mix and Mingle Reception. In my role, I welcomed attendees and shared insights on the importance of networking and building meaningful relationships.
In the months leading to the event day, I worked with ICUnity's National Board of Directors and the Office of Engagement and Constituent Relations to promote registration sign-ups for both the ICUnity Mix and Mingle Reception and NYC Network Night event via email marketing campaigns, social media content, and word of mouth advertising.
The Results:
-
The ICUnity Mix and Mingle Reception attracted 250+ in-person attendees.
-
The NYC Network Night event attracted 400+ in-person attendees.
